[SFM Test] - EyeRefract RT Camera Experimental by Gen-ma [SFM Test] - EyeRefract RT Camera Experimental by Gen-ma
Building upon Eye Refract models and the initiating testing that argodaemon did awhile back.

Eye Refraction Test [SFM|WIP] by argodaemon

Getting Real Time reflection is a pain but, it can work and require a lot of tweaking to do so. Also, this uses the element view to do the overrides to achieve the effect.

Messing around with it for about 1 to 3 hours to get it work. Had some issue with Uberlight clipping through the model, but I just made sure it hit the back of the mane so it wasn't see-through. The farzAtten works but not as good enough with low max setting. Anyways, this is experimental so lighting isn't going to be fantastic, and finding out the right setting can be quite hard.

Haven't figure it out on the normal eyes yet but just need to figure out the vmt coding and which setting causes the reflection to work.

Also, I took some sequences that were already premade to test out the feature.

Is there any possibility that we will see a tutorial or a download to achieve this effect on other ponies any time soon?

Maybe. It kinda hard to pull off but it is doable. I can probably make one on it. I need to layout it out in a good step by step instruction, and figure out it again. It was using the RT camera in SFM. Basically, you use a light source to reflect it on a reflective object.

I got the idea when I was watching your stream last night. When I saw those pinkie eyes, with those reflection. Much obliged =D. It's nothing new but kinda stumble upon it with the eye refract models when playing around the rt-cameras and reflections. XD

Darn XD. No worries. Maya is pretty good program, very powerful. I would say the learning curve takes some time, but definitely good skill to have.

Yes! Very cool! =) you can pretty much point the camera in any direction have the camera simulate reflection on the lights. Just happen that reflections work on the eye refract models too. XD
